Kali like most of the dark goddesses is greatly misunderstood in her iconography. She is seen wearing a skirt of severed arms, a rope of severed heads adorns her neck. Sword in one hand, bloody head in the other, her wild tongue juts from her mouth as wild feral eyes pierce your soul. She is a fearsome thing indeed. A primordial mother-creator. The beginning, life, the womb and also the end, the destroyer, the tomb. Kali is the great liberator, freeing her children from Ego, the self-centered illusion of reality. Her association with death enters here. However, it is not physical human death, it is the death of the Ego. She destroys the i-am-this-body idea and shows us we are spirit. We are all as old as the cosmos, star dust, and must see this human experience is temporary.
An awakened soul who seeks spiritual enlightenment will know the Dark Mothers boundless love, gracious and overflowing.

This Ritual Oil was crafted with deepest devotion to the Dark Mother. Charged with the vibrations of my singing bowl and further blessed and charged in the smoke of sacred herbs. Notes of Hibiscus (which is sacred to her), Jasmine, Patchouli and Red Carnation give this oil a spicy earthy floral tone. Hibiscus petals stain the oil red, reminiscent of Kalis role as the Red Ocean of Creation and further, of her destruction of the demon whose blood gave birth to more brutal demons, whom she devoured whole and drank his blood.
Delicate Jasmine also graces this complex blend. Reminding us too of Kali Ma's sweet devotion to her children. A chip of Leopardskin Jasper charges this oil for grounding and is especially useful in healing. Leopardskin brings a feeling of wholeness, serenity and being cared for. Perfect for the Dark Mother.
