Radiant as the sun, Macha Red Tresses is perhaps the most multifaceted aspect of the triple goddess Morrigan. She is a goddess of Sovereignty and Battle. She is a faery woman laying down curses and a Great Queen dishing out vengeance.
She is a goddess of the land and offers fertility and abundance. Macha is a sly shapeshifter, mother, lover, and on goes her many attributes.

Liath Macha, "Grey of Macha", belonged to our favorite hero, Cú Chulainn. He rose from the lake Linn Liaith, a gift from Macha (or Morrigan) and after being unable to throw Cú Chulainn from his back for an entire day, was tamed.

The Book of Leinster recounts Liath Macha's loyalty to his master:

"Afterwards, moreover, the Liath Macha went to Cuchullain, to guard him whilst his spirit lived in him, and whilst the lon laith (bird of valour?) continued out of his forehead. Then the Liath Macha executed the three red routs about him, when fifty men fell by his teeth, and thirty by each shoe, all of the enemy’s host; and hence the proverb—‘Not more furious was the victorious rout of the Liath Macha, after the killing of Cuchullain,'"

The aroma of this candle reminds me of leather tack, with a smoky accompaniment. The scent rounds out nicely with notes of amyris and light musk.

***Your burning candle should always be in sight and away from drafts. Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface when lit. Keep it away from children, pets, materials that can catch fire, and other heat sources. Never move your candle while it is burning or still hot.
