Pythia was a high priestess in the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. She would also act as it's Oracle. This woman could be of any social standing and was chosen based on her abilities to commune with the god, Apollo. People from all walks of life would travel great distances to have her prophesy for them. She would consult on everything from matters of state to when a farmer should plant his crops.
